Welcome to Episode #48!

We are back and the holiday season is upon us. Can you believe that 2015 is almost over and 2016 is right around the corner? Incredible!

On this new show, Scott and I discuss the family entertainment options and experiences on Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruise lines, specifically, the licensed characters from Dr. Seuss and DreamWorks and how they incorporate the characters along with children's activities, unique spaces on the ship, with parades, shows, movies, photo opportunities, dining experiences and more.

Carnival and Royal Caribbean are moving forward and are aggressively promoting these special interactive opportunities with these well known children's characters on board their ships. We expect to see in future advertising and marketing materials these licensed characters being used to draw potential cruise decisions. And why not?  On a cruise ship, you will have a much more intimate and quality experience than in a theme park. Undoubtedly, these experiences have huge potential for the cruise lines and we expect them to make further investments into these licensed characters with the addition of unique spaces and more on board ships in the coming years ahead.

Also on this show we have cruise news, cruise chit chat, and our theme cruise of the week! It's an action packed show of cruising goodness, we hope you will enjoy it! Feel free to contact us and ask any questions, we will answer them on a future show.

We appreciate our listeners and their support of our show - you are the best!

Happy Cruising!

Welcome to Episode #47!

It's a double bonus show!

On this new show we interview Amanda Hathorn-Geary from Get A Life At Sea and Don Bucolo from Eat, Sleep Cruise.

First up, Amanda worked on cruise ships for 10 years, she shares her experience and stories what it is like to work on these ships while traveling all over the world. She also tells us how she earned 4 degrees while working on board as well.  Amanda now helps prospective clients find their perfect job on a cruise ship. We are sure are going to enjoy this informative and insightful interview as much as we have.

Our next interview is no stranger to our listeners. Don just got home from a Southern Caribbean cruise on the Royal Caribbean's Adventurer of the Seas with his wife, plus his sister-in-law and mother-in-law who were first time cruisers. And they had an exciting adventure indeed:  their ship had to navigate around Tropical Storm Erica, so their itinerary changed on this cruise, and they had to make some quick decisions what to do at these unplanned ports stops. Don tells us all about what they did and how they still had a great time despite what happen.

Welcome to Episode #43!

Labor Day has passed us by and now we take some time to give our listeners our "news blast" of what's been happening in the cruise industry this past summer. Of course, Scott always has a opinion, a bad idea, or some half brain scheme about every story. (Guess who is writing the show notes?)

Actually, the future of cruising is very bright and yet competitive.

Cruise lines will have to make the investment into larger ships that will have to have more amenities, services, specialty restaurants, activities, water slides, custom pools and unique experiences to "wow" veteran cruisers and entice new first time cruisers.

And lets not forget that the Asia market for cruising is expanding and growing very rapidly. If you have ever wanted to visit China or Japan, the cruise lines are building ships expressly for this region. Expect to hear more about that in the coming year.

These things along with competitive pricing and customer appreciation and loyalty programs  will hopefully, the cruise lines think, develop long term relationships that will bring guests back year after year to spend their vacation time on a cruise ship.

In the end, we believe that cruising is best value for your vacation dollars because the competition between the cruise lines are fierce and that benefits you, the consumer.

Our podcast strives to share and promote the cruise lifestyle around the world and we think the future of cruising bright and we intend to be there to share it with you!

We appreciate your support of our show!  Please continue to share our show with your family and friends.

Thank you! Tommy & Scott

In Part 2 of this new show, Pam Andrews, my sister and Scott's wife, shares her thoughts and experiences on the beautiful Emerald Princess cruise ship and the amazing Mediterranean ports that they visited.

It's all here: the food, the weather, her cabin steward Angel ("he was a rock star!"), dolphins, the shows, the medical center, the spa, the ports, shopping, the Catacombs, city tours, mint chip gelato, escargot aka snail shots and Pam's cruise and tour tips.

Cruise Ports:

Rome, Italy (Embarkation)
Palermo, Sicily

Naples, Italy

Welcome to Episode #39!

A few weeks ago we shared with you a very unique "Theme Cruise of the Week", the Cruise to End Parkinson's: Back To The Future Cruise. We wanted to tell you about this cruise because Scott's father suffered with Parkinson's Disease for the last 30 years of his life and we wanted to support this by promoting it on our show.

Back to The Future just celebrated it's 30th anniversary this month and it has become a cultural touchstone in many people's lives all around the world including ourselves, The Cruise Dudes. The Back to The Future films brought to us a perfect mix of comedy, science fiction, drama, and romance that captured our hearts and minds. We can honestly say we don't know anyone who doesn't like them - they are awesome movies.

This cruise has it all: 1. It is on one of the largest and amazing ships in the world, the Oasis of the Seas; 2. It will be cruising in the beautiful Caribbean; 3.and finally, you will be spending seven days with the celebrities, from the Back to The Future film trilogy!

Confirmed Celebrities Include:

Mark McClure (Dave McFly, BTTF 1 & 3)

Jeffrey Weissman (George McFly, BTTF 2 & 3)

Harry Waters, Jr. (Marvin Berry, BTTF 1 & 2)

Don Fullilove (Goldie Wilson, BTTF 1 & 2)

A few days after that podcast show went out we were surprised to received an email from actor Jeffrey Weissman, who played George McFly in Back to The Future 2 & 3. Jeffrey offered to come onto our show to share more about cruise and what they are doing to help raise money for research towards a cure - of course we said yes!

We hope that maybe a few of our listeners can go on this cruise! Here are the links that we mentioned in the interview:

You can contact their travel agent Charles at Cruise Trek 310-456-7544 for more information and booking reservations. We wish Jeffrey and his friends much success on this important endeavor!

Welcome to Episode #37!

On this new podcast episode we talk about "How To Have A Great Family Reunion Cruise".

The Cruise Dudes have done a few family reunion cruises, so we share about what it takes to put one together and how to make it memorable. We think the best way to have a family reunion is to take a cruise! It has all the amenities, services, entertainment and food options that can appeal to everyone. There is always something fun, exciting and adventurous on board the ship and the exotic ports you can visit. The relaxing atmosphere on a cruise ship enhances relationships and will bring long last memories of a great lifetime experience.

Also on this episode, we have the latest cruise news, cruise chit chat, our themed cruise of week and Scott's embarrassing antics.

Welcome to Episode #36!

On this exciting new podcast episode we discuss "Summer Sailing To Alaska".

The Cruise Dudes love Alaska - it is one of the most beautiful, pristine, majestic and relaxing cruise that you can take. You are surrounded by nature's wonders - sky scrapping mountains, jaw dropping glaciers, wondrous waterfalls, animal and sea life roam freely around you as you enjoy the fresh, crisp, brisk air. The ports of Anchorage, Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan take you back to simpler times, the slower way of life, with rich Alaskan history. A trip to Alaska is rejuvenating!

This episode will just scratch the surface about Alaska cruises - it is to whet your appetite, and of course, we will be discussing the ports and all the things you can do and experience in future episodes. You can't fit it all in one episode!  Hopefully, you will forgive our excitement, but we are going back to Alaska in June 2016 and we can 't wait to share all about it.

As usual, we have the latest cruise news, cruise chit chat, our themed cruise of week and Scott's mispronounced words.

Welcome to Episode #34!

Wow, have we got a big show for you today!

This past Sunday at the Los Angeles Festival of Books, we had the awesome opportunity to meet and speak with Gavin MacLeod who played Captain Merrill Stubing on the famous TV series, The Love Boat. This show introduced us to the world of cruise ship vacations and it catapulted the Princess Cruises business into the stratosphere. The weekly TV show lasted for 9 seasons and is currently still in syndication in 125 countries. And if you are sailing on a Princess Cruises ship, you can watch the show on a exclusive TV channel in your cabin. Gavin is currently the Princess Ambassador for Princess Cruises and was recently honored as the "Godparent" of their newest ship, the Regal Princess.

Gavin has written about his amazing life and acting career in his new book, "This Is Your Captain Speaking". His journey from Broadway to Hollywood to sailing with Princess Cruises is filled with great stories and encounters with celebrities, politicians, as well as a spiritual rebirth. Gavin graciously gives God the credit for everything bestowed upon his life and family.

Scott and I hope you enjoy this mini interview with Gavin and we hope in the future to speak with him again. He was such a gracious gentleman and we thank Princess Cruises for their help in making this arrangement happen on such a short notice.

We have an autographed copy of Gavin MacLeod's new book that we are going to give away for free on our next show! All you need to do is email us at: thecruisedudes@gmail.com and put in the subject line, "Book Contest" and we will put your name into the hat for the drawing that will be done live on episode #35.

Welcome to Episode #31!

Podcasting goodness is here! On this new show we take a look ahead and in depth at what Carnival Cruises has to offer guests this year and next year. In our opinion, Carnival is the best value cruise line and is great for first time cruisers who want to test their sea legs and without blowing their budget. Carnival has many different ships to and destinations to pick from so you are never out of options.

Also, we are planning a short 3 or 4 day cruise from Los Angeles in August. We will be announcing the details on our next show. So plan to join us!

As always, we have the latest cruise news, cruise chit chat, our themed cruise of week and Scott's opinions (not facts, he doesn't want to be sued.)

We love and appreciate your support of our podcast. Please continue to share us with your friends!

Welcome to Episode #30!

On this new episode, Scott shares about his overnight trip to Catalina Island which is just off the coast of California, about 26 miles from the ports of San Pedro and Long Beach. Catalina is a popular port stop for cruise ships year round for Carnival and Princess. As you will hear, there are plenty of things to do, see, experience and eat there. Check out our Instagram feed to see Scott's photos and video he shared!

Whether you decide to cruise to Catalina or plan to stay there for a few days, you won't be disappointed with the beautiful and quaint surroundings. And if you take the one of the express boats to the island you don't need your passport! Catalina one of California's best vacation spots where you can relax and be rejuvenated.

As always, we have the latest cruise news, cruise chit chat, our themed cruise of week and Scott's bad sense of humor. (Guess who is writing the show notes?)

We love and appreciate your support of our show. Please continue to share us with your friends!
